Cindy Doty, SHRM-SCP, SPHR - Human Resources Consultant
Cindy Doty is a human resources consultant with experience in human resource (HR) management and employee benefits compliance. She especially enjoys helping small businesses build their HR systems from the ground up.

Cindy has over 30 years of HR management experience, including 7 years as an HR and employee benefits consultant where she advised large and small client companies in diverse industries.
She has extensive HR practitioner experience in management, HR software implementation, benefits development, and legal compliance, including AAP and Service Contract Act compliance for a government defense contractor.
Cindy is a skilled speaker with experience presenting on a variety of HR related topics including healthcare reform compliance, supervisory training, harassment and discrimination prevention, and career development.
Cindy has maintained the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation from the Human Resource Certification Institute since 1996 and the Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation from the Society for Human Resource Management since 2015. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, the North Alabama Society for Human Resource Management (NASHRM) and the Tennessee Valley Industry Liaison Group.
She has served on the NASHRM board of directors as Legislative Director, SHRM Foundation Coordinator, Certification Director and Mentor University Director. She is a passionate encourager to junior level professionals and is currently serving her fourth term as an HR mentor for NASHRM’s Mentor University.
Cindy earned a Master of Education degree in College Student Personnel Services from the University of Louisville (U of L) where she learned to read and write legal briefs in the U of L law library. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Mars Hill College in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina.
In her spare time, she enjoys classical and church music, working in her herb garden and spending time with family. She and her husband Kevin particularly enjoy visiting state parks and time way in the mountains.
